Tips for Organizing Craft Projects Using Recycled Items

I don't like to buy even more stuff to organize my stuff so I try to use things I already have on hand, like:

  • old cookie sheets to which I glue recycled tin cans to hold craft supplies
  • shoe cubbies are great for storing fabric, small projects, shoe boxes with crafts items or craft projects in them ...
  • shoe boxes hold one project each - and the lid serves as a tray for working on the project
  •  small boxes are great for organizing inside a larger space such as a drawer
Prettify your new craft organizers by covering with any of the following leftover items:
  • wallpaper
  • fabric
  • tissue paper
  • paper bag that has a pretty design
  • gift wrap
  • newspaper
  • magazine pages
  • comics
  • outdated or tattered map
  • one of your kids art projects
  • or paint it
Protect your design by coatiing with a clear protectant such as Modge Podge, Elmers glue, or varnish.
